Dani was determined to provide her kids with an education that aligned with her values. She wrote to me about how her moral compass led her to homeschooling:
30 years ago, you warned me about public schools. I did not have kids then, but your words stayed with me and strengthened my resolve that my children would not be subjected to public schools. When I realized that the private schools in my community were outside of my financial reach, I took a job with late hours so I could homeschool my boys during the day.
I had 18 AMAZING years of joyfully learning and growing alongside them through homeschooling kindergarten through 12th grade.
I graduated the youngest this summer, and now I’m done. You gave me the strength I needed to stick with it when it got hard. There is nothing I have done that makes me prouder than those years and the two young men I raised. They are strong, intelligent, ethical, Godly and know how to think for themselves and be real men.
Thank you for all the smart, tough lessons you have taught me over the years!
I doubt it feels good to be proven right by what is happening in our culture today, but thank you for seeing what was coming and sounding the alarm for those of us who were listening.
