What do women gain when boys are raised to be real men? Susanne shared with me how her husband’s character traits contribute to the success of their marriage:

Today marks my 42nd wedding anniversary with my wonderful husband. I was 19 and he was 21 when we walked down the aisle. We were just kids, but he was already working full-time on his family farm.

I couldn't imagine another person to take care of me and my future children.

We had three kids, and I was a stay-at-home mom. My husband was home every evening after work. We all went to church every Sunday. We did not spend a lot of money on vacations or frivolous things. There were times I worried we simply weren’t giving our kids enough, but apparently, we gave them exactly what they needed! They are all grown with families of their own now, and they tell us what a good job we did raising them and that they hope to do the same with their children.

My husband is a real man — wonderful, caring and thoughtful.

I’ve listened to your radio program for many years and have learned so much. That’s not to say we did not have our problems and challenges. But, being married and staying married was the ultimate goal, and you have helped us a lot!
