Just Because They Get Older Doesn't Make Them Easier

Dealing with parenting ups and downs

How My Children Thanked Me Years Later

There comes a day when parents may realize their children are taking care of them. Read how Linda’s children expressed their gratitude when the tables turned for their mother:

When my children were young, I was a stay-at-home mom. I was there before they went to school and when they came back home. I’ll be the first to admit that I was not a perfect mother, but I loved my children and always made it my goal to do what was best for them.

It never occurred to me that one day, they would grow up and "step up to the plate" to help me.

I ended up retiring a few months ago after having a pacemaker placed. Imagine my surprise and appreciation upon learning that my son and his wife proactively searched for a 55+ community and put my name on the list. When I retired, there was an apartment waiting for me.

But the best part of all this?

For the first time since they were little, I live close to both of my children’s families. They are the best support system I could ever ask for. I don’t even want to imagine what my life would currently be like had I not had MY children.
